Founded in 1988 HASUS is a Government registered non-profit, non-government organization founded in the year,1988 serving to protect and guide under privileged women and children, through provision of awareness building on different issues, Right based campaign approach, Construction of Low Costing Sanitation, Skill development Vocational Training, Disaster Risk Mitigation Programme. HASUS is also runs shelter homes for the Children need care & protection and destitute and rescued trafficked girl children & Women. Our focus areas of work are anti trafficking, domestic violence, child education & child protection, Livelihood development, Community health including RCH/ WASH, Disaster management & sustainable agriculture development.

MISSION:

Building of a Harmonious society based on natural ethos, inspired by spiritual heritage, society as environment sound though participatory.

Major Objectives:

To implement action oriented development programs for the upliftment of the socially excluded groups through public awareness, community development and integrated social actions in partnership with Government & other welfare agencies.

Over the year the organization has focused on Anti Human Trafficking, Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Community Health including WASH, Environment, Disaster Risk Mitigation and rights based programs, to eradicate poverty through education, livelihood and gender issues. Our work created effective benchmarks in redefining the existing intervention programs, identifying the success factor for creating better quality of life.

HASUS is a longstanding partner of Government at both National and State level, playing a key role in implementing the Integrated Child Protection Policy, Anti Human Trafficking Activities, represents various local and state level committees in child protection, Women Empowerment & Disaster Risk Mitigation. HASUS have strong functional linkages with different international aid organizations and Corporate.

Our Presence:

 400 backward villages under 54 Gram Panchayat of 24 Blocks in South & North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
 10 Brick kilns in Kulpi Block of South 24 Parganas District.
 Puncha Block in Purulia& Simlapal Block in Bakura District.
 Five Blocks under Murshidabad District.

Case Study:

"The livelihood training programme of HASUS has helped me to evolve as an entrepreneur from a child labour. After receiving training in Tailoring trade, now I have started my own cutting shop. Story of Aalta (12+):

I used to travel to Kolkata to work with my mother everyday early morning to wash utensils at other people’s home. My father has left to us when I was about 4 years old. One day, Krishna di & Purnima di met me in a local train and show me and my mother that I too have a childhood of play, fun, read, write and draw. Later they did motivate my mother and place me in HASUS run shelter home. Later I was admitted in local school and now I am a regular student of class-VII. I want to be a teach many children when I will be grown up

On behalf of HASUS, I am conveying our sincere thanks and gratitude to our beneficiaries, donor agencies, government officials, project staff, stakeholders, volunteers and entire community people for extending their support, cooperation and participation to achieve Organization's goal.
